At Elena Yhtiöt, we have always believed that an employer’s role is not merely to support people while they are at their desks. If our team members have goals, passion, and a desire to challenge themselves in their free time as well, we want to be part of that journey.
Our project manager Petteri Järvinen is perhaps a slightly… extreme example of this.
In recent years, the program has included Hyrox-style training, competitions in Hämeenlinna, and the kind of Rocky- or Rambo-esque workouts that the CEO sometimes watches with a mix of awe and dread.
The bar was raised again this year: it was time for the Spartan Beast in Lahti – 21 km and 30 obstacles.
Elena has been able to support Petteri on his journey by assisting with gear, travel, and accommodation. Solo Sokos Hotel Lahden Seurahuone served as the base for the competition weekend, offering the perfect setting for rest, good food, and preparation.
Special thanks also go to Mia Stenberg from Seurahuone, who supported Petteri on behalf of the hotel and expertly handled the arrangements regarding
accommodation, preparation, and relaxation. Here Work and leisure came together nicely for us: Lahdi Seurahuone uses the Elena Easy Lite service, so it was great to experience the service provided by a familiar client from the other side of the counter this time.

And the result?
Crossed the finish line. 21 km and
30 obstacles behind me.
Placed 112th out of 338.
But perhaps the best part wasn't the ranking.
After the competition, Petteri recounted how the participants encouraged and helped one another, and no one was left alone. Much the same things that [characterize] a good...
A workplace community also requires commitment, collaboration, helping others, and sometimes even going beyond one's own limits.
Finally, Petteri threw out a small challenge to us: "Maybe next year with our own group?"
At this point, the CEO was already starting to get a little worried. 😂
But Petteri – a truly outstanding achievement. We are proud of you and the attitude you bring to moving things forward, both at work and outside of it.
